Ladies and Gentlemen, Aviation Geeks and Frequent-flyer! Welcome to a new serie of tripreports!
I just came back from my summer trip 2018 on Tenerife and because of this I have four flights, that I really like to share with.
1) UX1516 MUC-MAD: E190 (Business Class)
2) UX9048 MAD-TFN: A330-200 (Business Class)
3) UX9117 TFN-MAD: A330-200 (Business Class) (you are here)
4) UX1517 MAD-MUC: Boeing 737-800 (Business Class)
I booked the whole trip quite early, but not on the Air Europa website because the prices were not the best. The seat selection and online check-in worked perfectly. Their customer service also added my new SUMA-Card (Air Europa's frequent flyer program), but could not order a vegeterian meal option as you will see later.
After visiting the Teide, the highest mountain on Spanish territory, small villages and after practicing my Spanish skills, it was time for me to travel home. Air Europa operates from the old and smaller airport in the north called "Aeropuerto de Tenerife Norte - Los Rodeos". It is known because of the crash of two Boeing 747, one KLM and one Pan Am, in 1977. The weather in Los Rodeos changes really fast and when I was at the airport, I could see that, too. Today, the airport is used especially for inter-Canarian flights and flights to the Iberian peninsular, but also low-cost airlines are starting to operate their international flights from there.
The depature hall:
When I arrived, I gave my rented car back and went to the check-in desk. There was a SkyPriority line, that I could use. There was only one person in front of me. The agent just did her job. I think, she was a little bit stressed. I received the boarding passes for this and my next flight, but my bags will only get until Madrid because I will stay there for one night.
Security check was really fast. Even at the normal track. The staff there was friendly.
Tenerife Norte has one lounge. The lift was easy to find, but if you use the stairs, you have enter a special gate area, but I found it. The "Sala VIP Nivaria was quiet and offered some newspapaer, a large variety of drinks and cold snacks and the view was really nice.

As the Airbus 330 is large plane, we went up to the first floor.
There, I could look down again to the ceck-in desks.
After passing throw the duty-free shops, it was just a short hop until arriving a the gate.
Boarding was a bit confusing, but I understood, what the sense was.
There was one line for Business Class passengers and passenger on seats with letters F and G. The other line for the rest. The reason was the little number of Business Class passengers. However, I cannot tell you if they made a extra call for priority boarding because boarding has already started when I arrived.
I could board the plane over a separate flight bridge.
I was greeted by one flight attend, who explained me the way to my seat. I was on 2K.
Receiving a refreshing towel, a welcome drink (water or orange juice) and a magazine of my choice.
Over there, you can see one of the few international airlines: Bulgaria Air
Depature was a bit late because two passengers were missing. When boarding was completed, I saw that only my campanion, me and two other passengers were sitting in Buisness Class. Nearly like a private flight. :)
Push back:
Hasta luego, Tenerife!
After depature, I found two amanety kits between my seat and cabin wall. I do not know if this was forgot on the last flight or if it was perpared for us, but better than nothing.
Here a look inside.
Drink service started at the same time.
The meal was a warm bread roll with bacon, cheese and some kind of salad. The roll itself was good, but the tomato and the chilli did not really have a good taste.
The flight attendend asked later if we have again any drink orders: I went for some tea
Looking out of the window:
Over there, an other Air Europa plane from the Canarian Islands. Is it one of the new Boeing 787?
On the IFE screens they showed some cartoons and other stuff. Bad if you compare this flight with the flight to TFN.
Welcome back to Europe!
Madrid! (sorry for the bad quality, turbulences made it difficult)
We arrived next to a plane of Ethiopian Airlines:
Bye bye, 2K and EC-JPF! The flight was again completly diffrent, but still nice! Thanks, Air Europa!
A bus brought us directly to the baggage delivery.
Later, I went to the city centre by the undergound. The fare was about 7€ to Sol (but you need a rechargable trasport pass for 2€ before)
Finally at Sol, km 0 of Spanish roads.

Thanks for this FR.
Indeed you never know what you're getting on UX business class.
Between the seat and the service it goes from average to really good.
Too bad you didn't get the 787, but it seems they are operated on a an exceptional basis only.
