Review of Qatar Airways flight from London to Doha in Economy

Hi Hei Helloo! Welcome back to my new flight report! This time, I'll be reporting a part of my trip to London as I received free flight from UK Embassy Jakarta for another photo competition as a campaign of Visit Great Britain, so I was flying with my cousin and her friend on this trip as they will start school in September.   


After about a week stayed in Camden, London it was the time for me to go back to Indonesia. Actually I left the apartment to the airport little bit late since I went to the airport with the tube that may took longer time travel. The full route of this London Trip shown below: 

T4 LHR Airport

I have done my check-in a night before, I did realise something change but I didn't really paying attention to that, I did the online check-in because I learnt from the past mistake that QR Ground Staff in CGK took so long in everything.

So after arrived from the tube station of T4 LHR I went up to the departure level and head to the baggage drop counter. I totally forgot to show/tell the agent to input my MH's Enrich number! I didn't took any pictures on the check-in area. After that, straight head to the security check point, I just realise that there's no immigration for outbound flight from UK, similar with the US. The more you travel, the more you know I guess right?


I was leaving from LHR a day after the pilot strike if I wasn't mistaken. As I'm not into shop and everything I wait for my flight to shown the gate on the FIDS, I went to an electronic store to bought a phone cable charger yeap I just forget that, right after that I went to a vending machine to get a water bottle and head to the gate. 

Finally my flight shown on the FIDS, yep the Qatar flight QR04  was also operated and/or sold as British Airways BA7004.

Due the view restriction I can't get a better shot at this big whale… 

Gate 5, my boarding pass, and boarding started after around 15 - 30 minutes delay due late plane arrival.  

As I entered the plane I was realise what was wrong! Yes! The seat changes! I didn't really notice that until I walked to the very end of the aircraft. I was checked in and pick  50A during ticket booking and it was changed, well there is a reason for this, you guys will find it later. I don't really like this A380 lower deck window, it was really hard to get a good picture outside as the oval frame quite thick…

Boarding completed, the headphone was already on the seat back pocket, the safety video played before push back, and then we taxied. Still love this rear view camera! 

Taxied over the not-so-busy time for T4 LHR, leaving the Boeing's of China Southern, Gulf, and Qatar, and took off with British Airways nest in sight. 

As soon as the plane almost reached the cruising altitude, the seat belt sign was turned off and the cabin crew prepared stuffs for the service

the Quisine by Qatar menu. The service begin with snack and beverages. 

Right after the snack, the main meal for the flight was served. The cabin crew seems not in rush or anything since the plane is really empty! The first round I choose lamb, then the second round I choose the chicken, I almost asked the pasta one! Hahaha just kidding, I have not a proper breakfast before so I was still half empty actually. LoL. The guy in front of me actually did the same because you know it was really empty flight and we save the food from being thrown away, a lil chit-chat you know that you are not the only one that hungry when fly. Say no to food waste. Then the meal service was ended with the tea/coffee. The taste was really good, or it was because I'm really hungry? But no, it was better than the food from DOH-LHR flight.   

Lavatory visit before fell for rest as next flight to Jakarta I won't sleep. The cabin view of very rear end section of this A380 and the centre section that completely empty!

What a huge wing! A last glimpse of the view outside before turned into darkness.

Best Economy Seat! Another old movies to watched to kill time before landing, and seat-back pocket reading materials. 

The second service was only the snack kinda stuff. Right before the service end I just remember that I still have the water bottle that I got from the vending machine! QR didn't provide everyone with a water bottle so that was my way to keep my water intake, Gotta keep yourself dehydrated!

From this camera we can absolutely view if the jet-bridge already attached to the plane or everything happened there.

Straight to the transit security check point, went to the food court to get hot chocolate, and hanging around here and there before the connection flight to Jakarta.
