- 8WS- New York - Toronto
Welcome to my last and rather short trip report on this series.
After an overnight stay in NYC, it was time to fly back to Toronto. As I had arrived in JFK late the night before, I opted for an evening flight out of La Guardia. Though my scheduled departure was 7PM, I arrived at the airport around 1 due to an midday checkout from my hotel.
When reaching the counter, the WS agent offered to put me on the earlier departure. To my surprise, it was on the Boeing 737-600. Numerous times before I had tried booking a flight on the aircraft but I was always met with a time conflict.
Immediately my bags were checked and I made my way to the gate.

In January WS still operated from the older terminal at LGA.

Aircraft: Boeing 737-6CT
Registration: C-GWSL
Age: 14.3 Years
Layout: *UPDATED WESTJET LAYOUT*

Leg room was great even though the flight was short.

The typical LGA traffic could be seen on taxi.

RWY 4 departure.

Manhattan and Queens could be seen as we made our way to Toronto.

High ceilings allowed for a clear view of Upstate NY.

Beverage service was short and quick. I opted for a coffee and buscuits.

Niagara Falls

Welland Canal can be seen in the distance in the distance as we descended over Lake Ontario.

Lining up for final.

A firm landing on RWY 05 was a clear indication that my trip was over.

A HU 789 heading back to PEK.

On taxiing into T3, BA, KL, LY and EY prepared for departure.

WS 789 after arriving from YYC.

Ahhh a short flight on the short B736! A rare airplane, one I hope to log in, unless WestJet have announced it's retirement already. Thank you for sharing this! I am still getting to your previous reports in the series...
Thank you for reading! From what I saw online, the aircraft are still flying between Alberta and British Columbia, out in Western Canada. I hope you enjoy the other reports as well.
