Hello again and welcome to a new FR. Here it goes the flight back, from Oporto to Lisboa. For my surprise, TAP made a last-minute change of aircraft, so I was expecting to fly the ATR again, but while making the check in I realized we'll be flying the E-195. That was quite good for me, as It's been many years since the last time I flew this type of aircraft. If I'm not wrong it was a MUC-GOT with Lufthansa Cityline back in 2010.
So, let's go. I arrived at the airport about an hour and a half before the flight. I found Oporto a very nice airport, much more spacious and well-looking than Lisboa. Check in was made and my bag heading to Malaga too. So I went to the security control. Again, it was quite fast.
Already on the airside. Quite a busy morning today.
Here there are a few pics of the terminal. Despite being september, it was still quite empty. Hopefully nowadays it's more crowded.
One of the few european airlines flying to Oporto, KLM. It was also operating the E-195 on this route. Here you can find it after it's flight from Amsterdam.
There's our flight. Lufthansa from Frankfurt was also arriving at that time.
Boarding started some good 30 minutes before STD. Back there, the other TAP was preparing for it's flight to Paris, later that day.
Once on board, and with the "boarding completed", I moved to the previous row, so I will have no one next to me. Load factor was still quite high.
Push back started on time
Flaps set for take off and taxi to the runway. It didn't take long, as Oporto is a small airport. Even not being that big, there are (or at least since march 2020) a few long flights to New York, Luanda and Brazil.
Bye bye, Oporto! What a nice day for flying.
Climbing, but not so high today.
Some portuguese landscapes.
I was expecting a service on board this flight, just the same as we did it on the last ride LIS-OPO with the ATR, whick consisted in a cold drink and a chocolate. But crew didn't appear, so no service today. Maybe the aircraft type is the reason? Magazine was also removed, but you can download it online.
Already descending to Lisboa
And the best of the flight, without a doubt, the approach in Lisboa. In my opinion is one of the most beautiful of Europe.
And touchdown just after 35 minutes in the air.
During taxi we were able to see the parked A330. Long haul flights were still a dream at these times. Sad to see those airplanes grounded for such a long time.
And we made it to our gate.
One last picture of our aircraft just after disembarking.
That's all for today. Later then I went to have something for lunch before the flight to Malaga, which was a few hours later. I will publish that flight as soon as possible. By now, thank you very much for reading, stay well.
Guillem
Thanks for the report. I remember I took the same route back in 2015, and there was also no service at all. However it was operated by an A319 of TAP Portugal.
If I'm not wrong they're still using Airbus on this route, but it depends on the demand of the flight (and at what time does the flight operates). Very short flight with that aircraft doesn't give many service opportunities.
Thanks for sharing! Not surprising to see no service on this short flight during the pandemic, though I believe they used to have a somewhat premium service with free alcohol on this route before Covid. Awesome views of Porto on takeoff and Lisbon on landing.
Thanks again for sharing!
