Hello Everyone!
This is my first trip report here on Flight-Report! For this trip report, I am reviewing an awesomely spectacular flight from San Francisco to Vancouver. This occurred before the pandemic back in Apr-2019. Several times a year I would travel to different parts of the US or Canada for business trips.
The day started out early and it was the first flight of the day to Vancouver. Here is N432UA which will take me to Vancouver. Aircraft was delivered in May-1996.
Waiting at Airside by Gate 87
Here is the leg room in seat 3F.
A blanket was provided.
Water was served.
Here's the view outside. Luggage still being brought into the belly of the plane.
Taking off from runway 01R. The perpendicular runways 28-10 can be seen.
Travis Air Force Base seen off in the distance
Flying over Crater Lake Oregon!
A light breakfast was served. Unfortunately I did not get my first choice and so I settled for yogurt and fruits.
Mt Rainer. On a clear day, many of the peaks of the Cascade mountain range could be seen.
Descending to Vancouver and now crossed over the border into Canada.
On final approach. Very windy on finals.
Disembarked from the plane and into the terminal looking back. What a spectacular view!
Hi BayAreaTraveler, thanks for sharing this first report here with us! Great report and video! You definitely had some great luck with clear weather the whole way up to YVR--when it's clear, the PNW is absolutely breathtaking!
I like the look of UAs newer F cabins, but that's about it. The breakfast is definitely super light--if you hadn't mentioned this was pre-Covid, I wouldn't have known the difference. I guess the PDB was the biggest indicator this was pre-Covid.
It is a shame there are no PTVs, but I assume there was streaming IFE on this flight? UA A320s should be equipped with personal device entertainment. It's also good to know that UA has changed strategy for narrowbodies since the 737 MAX 8 deliveries and will be putting seatback screens back into a/c that currently don't have them.
P.S. I corrected the Cabin type to "Domestic First"--the "First" category is meant for long-haul F cabins.
Thanks for sharing and welcome to Flight-Report! Looking forward to more reviews.
