Part 1 : Introduction
Hello guys and welcome to my new flight review. After my girlfriend's mother funeral , we (Me, my mother and my girlfriend) are flying from Brussels to Shanghai Pudong International Airport with Hainan Airlines on 22 October 2024 then continue our journey back to Hong Kong. This was my 1st Time onboard HNA's Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and also my 1st flight flying with mainland china-based airlines after the COVID-19 pandemic was over.

Part 2 : GO TO AIRPORT
We left our house at 5:00am. Then, we take the train and arrived at the Airport around 6:30am. Then we proceed to check-in counter at Departure Hall
Here's the check-in counter of HNA's flight at Brussels Airport. After check-in, we go to the security check and then passing through the passport check by the Federal Immigration Departement of Belgium.
When we are waiting our flight at the Gate, there's a man was angry with his wife because they missed their United Airlines flight. (Later, they were rebooked the flight onboard Emirates to Washington Via Dubai).
Part 3A : BOARDING
Our Hainan Airlines flight to Shanghai Pudong (PVG) was operated by B-1499, an Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft who's delivered to HNA's fleet in October 2017 by The Boeing Company. I was surprised that this aircraft was painted in "IHG Hotel Group" special livery just 9 months ago in January 2024 and also my 1st time flying on the aircraft painted in Special Livery !!!😜

Part 3B : HU7922 BRU > PVG
We started to board the aircraft at 11:15am and completed at 11:50am with an total 35 mins of boarding. After that, the safety video was played during taxi to the runway 25R for takeoff. "V1, ROTATE !" Goodbye Belgium and see you soon !
Around 40 mins after takeoff, the crew started to serve the Lunch service. The 3 choices of Main Course were Chicken Rice With Sesame Sauce and Vegetables, Sweet-Spicy Fish Rice or Beef Pasta. Unfourtunely the beef option was not available the cart approch our seats, so my girlfriend was disappionted (Because beef was her favourite🙄). So for the alternative options, I got the Chicken. My girlfriend and my mother were got the Fish option. Both options of Main Course were served with an Couscous salad as Appetizer, an Chocolate Mousse dessert and a bread roll.
My girlfriend brings also some fruits too, but the crew tell her in English that fruits are PROHIBITED for entering the China by Customs of PRC (It was her 1st time go to the airport on Mainland China🙄) ! So we are decided to eat all of them during the Lunch ! A special things that I thinked on the chinese airline, that the crew served the drinks after they served the meal to passengers.
After the meal service, the crew give an Immigration Card for all foreigans who's entering the PRC (Me and my mother are HongKongers, so we have the HOMECOMING Permit Card). Later the cabin lights were diminued, my girlfriend and I continued to watch some films for 6 HOURS because we are so excited to be 1st time in PVG !
When our aircraft flew over Beijing, the crews started to served the Breakfast with 2 choices : Scrambled Eggs as Western Option or Chicken Congee as Chinese Option. My mother and my girlfriend got the Chinese option and I got for the Western option. Both options of Breakfast were served with an Fruit Salad, a Yougurt and a soft bread.

Part 4 : Arrived at PVG
Our aircraft landed on Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 3:58am. Since our aircraft was parked at Satellite Terminal of PVG, so we need to take the train back to the main section of Terminal 2 for immigration check and baggage reclaim.
For the international flight reason, all passengers of our flight (Including the passengers who's have the connecting flight with HNA and Hong Kong Airlines from PVG) need to pick-up their check-bag at Baggage Reclaim.
Since our Hong Kong Airlines Flight HX237 to Hong Kong will departed at midday and restaurants are open from 6:00am, so we are getting to the rest area of Arrival Hall.
