Homecoming
After spending 10 days in Paris and Florence for the holidays, it's back to Asia for my usual routine.

I woke up and left the hotel for the airport around 5:30am, and it was drizzling.
Arrival at Charles de Gaulle
Reached the airport smoother than I thought.

Concorde Jet.

Went straight to check in my luggage. There was a bit of queue, but things still went smoothly on my part. I have to admit that it can be easy to pick the wrong queue…

I went upstairs and took the looooooooong conveyor belt to the security and immigration check.
The check-in was nothing was nothing compared to the usual long security and passport check.
Layover

As soon as I cleared the checks, I had a bit of time for breakfast and hanging out in the airport. My flight CX260 departs at 11:40.

Simple breakfast before walking to my gate.

Hainan B787 bound for Chongqing.

Air France 777-300ER

Gate 37, where my flight departs.

My ride for the rainy morning: CX260; Boeing 777-300ER.
Boarding
Boarded on time, as usual. I made my way to my Premium Economy seat…

Seat 34A, by the window! For one flying long haul, they usually want window seats.

Turkish Airlines A330 from Istanbul.

Enjoy the iconic GE90 melody!
The Flight
Lunch was served around two hours later. I went for chicken and polenta.

Chicken texture..straight on the point. The polenta is a little mushy, but still good.

Spent a few hours watching movies and playing Solitaire, until the sky turned dark.

The cabin lights went off right at that point. However, I had some difficulty sleeping. I tend to have sleep problems for long haul Europe-Asia flights departing in the noon.
Eventually, I still managed to catch two hours of sleep.

Woke up with a cup noodle.

The lights went on just as we are over China.

Breakfast.

HKIA in sight, and we commenced landing.

Arrival at HK!
I then went to the transfer area, grabbed a breakfast before moving on to my next flight back to Taipei.
Until next time!
Cool review! CX has really stepped up their game in their post-covid PEY offerings, with better service and in particular business mains for even short haul PEY!
I personally find the current first-gen seat on the 77W a little too hard for my liking and the IFE laggy, but those issues will definitely be solved with their new PEY seat to come in 2024 with their Aria suite.

Nice to see a review on CX Premium Economy--it's been a long time since I've seen one! It's great to see that CX have upgraded the soft product to better differentiate from Economy. It seems that in post-Pandemic times that airlines are once again focused on improving premium experiences and enticing passengers to upgrade. Now Economy...that's a whole other story, haha, that's long been forgotten by most carriers.
