After arriving from Fukuoka with ANA, I went to the observation deck to do some spotting. Since my luggage and boarding pass to Hong Kong were settled in Fukuoka, there was nothing to do with this onward flight. I would say Nagoya Chubu International airport is a paradise for Boeing 737, as you can see ANA deploys most of its 737 here.
The observation desk was very huge, and everyone could have a good view of the traffic on the ground. It was a pity that the weather was not good for spotting activity.
Another view of the B737-700 that brought me from Fukuoka. And she was ready for her flight to Asahikawa as NH325. Thank you and good bye.
Next to JA04AN, parked also two ANA B737s.
1. B737-700 JA06AN arriving from Sendai as NH364 and then continue to Memanbetsu as NH327
2. B737-800 JA65AN arriving from Sapporo as NH704 and then back to Sapporo as NH711.
On the other side, at the international apron, we could see an Air China, Korean Air and China Eastern Airlines.
Then we returned to the terminal and found a Sushi restaurant for lunch.
We spent an hour in the restaurant. Then we headed to the security check.
After passing the immigration, we dropped by the duty free shop before proceeding to gate 17 which our flight was assigned. The flight was also code-shared with Qatar Airways.
Our plane had arrived as we reached the gate. B-HLD, the same configuration as my inbound flight from Hong Kong. This plane was delivered to Cathay Pacific in June 1995, so it was already 23 years old.
Boarding was started at 15:38pm. My seat 39K, it was located on the first row of the economy class.
The PTV for the first row was mounted on the partition wall.
The seat pocket was placed at the bottom of the partition wall.
View of out my seat.
Pushback started at 16:03pm.
Welcome screen of Cathay Pacific entertainment.
Ground staff waving us goodbye as usual.
We took off from RWY36 at 16:15pm.
Shortly after take-off. Nagoya Chubu International Airport was still visible in distance.
About 15 minutes after take-off, I started to watch a Japanese movie called, Ajin.
At 16:39pm snacks and drinks were served, and I opted for a Japanese beer.
The weather over Japan remained quite cloudy and I was not able to see the ground below.
At 17:15pm, dinner was served and I took the chicken option and a white wine as the complementary drink.
Flying over Kyushu again as we were having the meal.
Not long after the meal was distributed, Häagen-Dazs ice-cream was given, this time I got the cookies and cream.
After I finished the movie at 18:33pm, I visited the lavatory.
View of the front section of the economy class.
Back from the lavatory, I watched the second movie of the flight, Rough Night. Luckily I could manage to finish the movie minutes just before touch down.
Flying over Taiwan.
Leaving Taiwan from the Yunlin County
At 19:37pm, announcement from the cockpit that the descend into Hong Kong had commenced.
Our plane landed on RWY07L at local time 19:28pm, total flight time was 4 hours and 13 minutes. We parked at gate 62.
Thanks for reading!
Exceptional services by Cathay, too bad we don't fly them since transferring at HKG is pretty hectic to our city in the mainland, and so other options are starting to get on par with Cathay. Good report!
Thanks for this review. Good service , a seat that looks confortable and a good meal . CX never dissapoints
